Tito-Adopted

MEET TITO!!

Tito, now “Mayor Pete” came to us from a severe neglect case. He was a matted mess with horrible skin, teeth and eyes. He was so matted that he had to have a leg amputated due to strangulation (the first several photos are from when he was first rescued). The pain Pete endured for who knows how long is hard to even think about.

Pete went through several surgeries at his senior age. First his leg had to be amputated, this surgery was very hard on him, his recovery took much longer than your average amputation. We are so thankful he was with Jess our medical foster mom during his recovery. She helped him find the confidence to walk again. Next was a neuter, something long overdue for him, and the easier of the 3 procedures. Finally Pete went to the doggie dentist to have all of his teeth removed. Unfortunately none could be saved due to the condition they were in.
Thanks to great vet care and his amazing foster Mom- Pete recovered well and was ready to move on to his retirement home!
We love our repeat adopters and we are so thankful this family opened their hearts and home to a differently abled senior, who came from a horrible past. We are so happy for Pete! Enjoy your retirement with your loving family ❤️

Here is an update from Pete’s Mom:
“Mayor Pete Buttished (AKA, Pete-Pete, Peter, Pete-Pete white dog, Pete-Pete Beep-Beep and so many other names he’s already gathering from everyone in the household…) has settled in like he’s been here his whole life. His favorite place to be is in our lap or in his new dog bed-which is on mom and mom’s bed - between their heads…of course.
He loves walks and does great on his leash. He loves scratches, belly rubs, soft dog treats and fancy dog food (Pete is definitely a foodie). He has learned to go up and down one step and is getting along with his 3- Legged PWD dog sister and his human brother and sister.
Pete was meant to be with us and within one week he is the addition we have been waiting our whole lives for. “
