Meet Wheeler!
Wheeler is a 35 pound, 7 month old, long legged Black lab mix. This handsome fella has been described as “perfect” by one of his foster parents.
Wheeler found his way to us after being struck by an 18 wheeler (hence his name), and being lucky enough to survive! Thankfully his encounter with the semi truck only injured his rear legs. He was able to see our orthopedic upon arrival and it was determined his injuries were already healing, so no surgery was required, just exercise restrictions for a bit. Now, 5 months later, you would never even know it happened! He is able to be a puppy, and do all the puppy things!
Here is what his foster Mom has to say:
“Wheeler is a love bug! This guy begs to be cuddled or curled up in your legs. He will share your couch or bed and keep you warm. He’s a very sweet, soulful and quiet boy and listens well!
We have taught him a few commands, including heel. He’s content to chill with his bones and toys, but loves to explore, play, go on walks and meet new people. He is great with other dogs, gentle and a good companion, even to the older ones. He’s a very handsome guy and such a sweet heart. He will steal your heart in no time”
Wheeler is house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, is good with kids, cats and other dogs. He’s just an all around good boy who deserves a family to call his own!
