This beautiful, sweet and gentle soul is Tess, an 8 year old neglected lemon hound.
We were told that Tess had a rash on her stomach, and we were given some drops that were being used to treat it. Once we looked at Tess, we knew that what we were seeing was more than a rash and she needed to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. The vet instantly noted a very angry tumor that needed to be removed.
Tess was also diagnosed with a grade 4 heart murmur, so needed to see our cardiologist before surgical intervention of the mass. Jess was approved for surgery and her mass was removed.
Unfortunately for Tess the removal of the mass was too late, she has been diagnosed with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma, which has invaded her lymphatic system. We were all so sad to hear the diagnosis. Most of these tumors are remedied quickly with surgical removal, but due to her neglect, it had turned deadly for her. Fortunately Tess does not know her prognosis, but what she does know she is in a home now that loves her. She has fit into our home like a glove! She loves her new life with us, as you can tell by the pictures!
